Akadema Baseball Gloves
Akadema makes high end baseball gloves "for professional players which are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players". Since its inception in 1997, Akadema has been a leading innovator in baseball equipment design, especially with regard to baseball gloves. Akadema’s Reptilian glove series uses a near-fingerless design that creates a natural air pocket, absorbing shocks and improving glove-to-hand transfer. The Reptilian glove has no breaking points in the pocket, so it keeps its shape longer than traditional gloves. Another of Akadema’s innovations involves the Funnel line of gloves. The Funnel series uses a design that keeps the glove open (rather than closed) when at rest. This innovation stemmed from input from professional players who bend the thumb and pinky fingers of the glove outward to reshape the glove to a more open position. In 2005, Akadema signed their biggest name yet - Manny Ramirez, to endorse their gloves.
Akadema baseball gloves come in 3 series, with youth models selling for approximately $40 + and adult gloves selling for $100 +.
